Saltire: Also known as the St Andrews Cross is Scotland’s national flag.
Rampant Lion: An emblem of courage which signifies a valiant warrior. It appears on the Royal Standard of Scotland and was historically used by the King of Scots. The lion is often regarded as the king of beasts and was chosen as an emblem of Scotland to symbolise its bravery and strength as a nation.
Thistle: Legend has it this prickly leaved pink/purple flower saved Scottish soldiers from ambush when one of their enemy trod on a thistle with his bare foot. His cries sounded the alarm, the enemy was duly defeated and so the thistle became a national emblem.
Celtic Art: Traditional to Scotland. Based on flowing lines, curves and spirals. Celtic knots are often called endless knots as they do not have a definitive beginning and end. They represent eternity or never ending, this could be in love, faith, loyalty or friendship.
Golden Eagle: One of Scotland’s largest birds of prey. With a wingspan of over two meters it is a formidable hunter, known for being inconspicuous and fiercely fast.
Loch Ness Monster: A large unknown animal which inhabits Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. There are many stories of the Loch Ness Monster and its existence but the creature has not yet been discovered or documented by the scientific community. First brought to the worlds attention in 1933, Nessie remains one of the most famous examples of cryptozoology.
