Shetland Bob Cap
Shetland Bob Cap- This hat gets its name from the Shetland Isles in Scotland. There are approximately 100 Shetland Islands, only 16 of which are inhabited. The majority of Shetland's population (~ 23,200) live on 'the mainland' Island. It is the third largest Scottish Island, covering 373 square miles with a magnificent coastline 2,702 Km long. The main industries on the island include, agriculture, fishing, tourism, renewable energy, crude oil and natural gas production. Shetland's fishing industry is worth millions and remains central to the islands economy. Mackerel makes up more than half the catch in Shetland with haddock, whiiting, herring, cod, monkfish and shellfish making up the rest. Farming is mostly concerned with the raising of Shetland sheep known for their unique fine wool. Other well known Shetland breeds include the pony, sheepdog, cow, goose and duck.
